Willem Oltmans (1925) is a Dutch journalist, who reported from New York (1958-1992) and many other capitals in the world, Rome, Jakarta, Pretoria, New Delhi, Moscow, Tokyo. He lectured from coast to coast for W. Colston Leigh in New York. He wrote in 1974 and 1975 for Putnam & Sons in New York two volumes of interviews on the theme Limits to Growth of the Club of Rome. In 1981, he published The Soviet Viewpoint, an interview book with Academican Georgi Arbatov, at the time Director of the USA Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences and US specialist for Leonid Brezhnev and Yuri Andropov. Senator J. William Fulbright, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the US Senate wrote a foreword to this volume. Oltmans further published dozens of books in Holland, Germany, Spain, United Kingdom, Russia and Japan. This brochure is meant to show that, in the author's view, the United States is with Bush junior turning into the evil empire of the 21th century. He maintains that if the 1971 ABM Treaty with Russia is outdated, the NATO Treaty of 1947 should be scrapped first. The European-US pact to destroy the USSR has outlived its original purpose. Western Europe and the present EU is only an outer fringe peninsula on the massive Euro-Asian landmass called Russia, stretching beyond the Urals as far as Chamkatka.
